Just got this from Orchards....

" We are likely toremain waterlogged for some weeks yet and therfore no vehiclws allowed onot grass areas - and there is still just 1 loo and no showers and no hot water

therefore a special price of £3 per night per person and fire wood at £8 per barrowload instead of £15"

It looks like a good responce, I am up for giving it ago. if everyone is....??????.

he says it is water loged, but I walked down to the woodland area, but it seemed ok may be frozen tho, lol.

If its not the tarp got a spare Basha your more than welcome to borrow as I'll be using my dd tarp. Price seems good, so I'm up for it still. Will check with my mate, see if he is still coming. No cars on grass is fine as I'm used to hiking bout an hour with all gear on bk and dog, so sort walk fine.

I spoke with Nick last night (KimboKo) , sadly he can not make it as he has family things to do, I am wondering if we book for say begining of march with the orchards for a night and go were we went last time? what is everyone else's feeling?

Hey got my new Tarp.... :), looking good, made it a skin , and all set up with a ridge line and prusik'd up. just need it to be sat night...

We going this Saturday or another Saturday in March? Not fussed either where we end up, could even use old hall woods if people fancied? No permission but I've never been moved on. Owner lives no where near it so doubt he'll be visiting there evening or morning times.

Just Had an email from Orchards, saying that the site is not too water logged for camping , just not able to get the cars on it, if everyone's ok with it, I suggest we go there.... at least we can hang around a bit on the Sunday then.

Oh yeah, yes old hall woods is the one we thought about first. My usual site, the ancient woodland. Small group would be fine i reckon. No shooting on the land so wouldn't have to worry bout that. No parking though, so would be a case of parking in chantry and hiking there. Still trying to get out to tattingstone, to check out a small bit of woodland there.

Great night last night, after trying Orchards out, OK not out in the wilds but, hey it out amongst the trees, had a bit of trouble getting the fire going due to damp logs, but got it going, after a bit of work with my Hat,

When we arrived and looked for the water we found none of the taps worked, and the loos locked.......... we started to set up, and sort out the Tarps and the Hammocks.

So we waited till the the camp site owner appeared, he told us go round the bag of the house the tap is there so is the loo.... thank good nes we got water.....:) kettle was put on, did some food, after the we finished it off with cheese, oatcakes and a drop of Port...... the just chated till bed time.

Got up this morning there had been a frost, opened my flask that I had made last night, built the fire which I lit no prob this time, cooked breakfast, the just cleared up the site, paid the money and left.

Tony took some pics which hopefully will go up later, all in all yes its not the wilds but as a quick weekender I can see out of season its a good place for somewhere to go, and will be returning again.

Hi All

Just to say had a good night last night. the best bit was having seeming mug of hot coffee and breakfast in front of an open fire and it being a very sunny and the crisp morning are with the warmth of the sun on your face and good company, there is nothing like it.

Stu I jest checked and it got down to about -2.5 approx last night so with wind chill it was no surprise it was a little Chile at time last night lol.

Regards
Rum
