Been carving a bowl type thing and on the handles where there was a sawn end it split, I decided to get rid of the handles as they weren't strictly necesserary, but in the actual bowl portion there is a hairline crack that was a continuation of the initial crack.

What can I do to prevent this hairline crack getting worse? I got rid of the sawn ends and made it all even to try to get it to dry evenly is there anything I can do or just stick it in a paper bag and hope for the best?

Cheers

Drilling a small hole at the end of the crack should stop the split spreading further

Letting the wood dry out slowly is the trick to stopping it splitting in the first place

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but once a split has started in a bowl there's very rarely anything you can do about it. A picture might help as it could give clues to why the split started in the first place...
