Been a busy day in the woods again, after a trial of rebuilding a couple of steps using hazel I decided to do a complete section with the help of a fellow volunteer.
Along with the steps, to also deter cyclists a very crude dead hedge (further work required) has been added as bikes were damaging the side of the path.
Happy with the result now time will tell to how long the steps will take to rot. I'm hoping 4-5 years with maintenance to stop and dirt or leaf mould build up.
The initial steps with risers falling over, broken and one missing.
Work mid-point
The finished project, view from the bottom and top, with the steps recut.
