So what's happening with this?

After the tragedy with the scales are Spyderco never doing the BCUK again? Can you still get hold of the factory seconds? Are spydie in talks with anyone about making another with different scale materials?

Cheers,
Will

It will be available with micarta scales, and possibly other materials in the near future.

The Spyderco website should list the availability of the 'seconds'.

The Mods got some at the Moot :D Handled by Chris himself and his mark is on them
Mine's in olive green canvas micarta, and it's a beautiful knife to use :D :D
Really, really pleased with it :approve:
With Chris's usual attention to detail, the Spyderco handle is incredibly comfortable in use, even if one has small hands like mine or, well, you've met the rest of the Mods.....they're generally on the tall and broad size with hands to match.

It feels lighter than the woodlores, shorter than the moras and the laplander blades, but by heavens it's effective :D

cheers,
M

Pics Mary, we need pics.

I think it's a great knife (see my mini-review here). The blanks don't seem as good value as the seconds but that choice has gone now.

I may yet rehandle mine in micarta or CF so if you have any pics, Mary, let's see 'em! If I do, I'll stick to the original handle shape as it's a winner.

I just found a post by Chris showing a red linen micarta (and other materials) handled bushcraft on the Spyderco forum. It's here.

They look lovely.
