Spring wild camp on Dartmoor anyone?

This may be of interest to you. We spent a weekend with Ivan at his place on the south moor last weekend. Fires, hammocks, tents all welcome. Fresh stream running right through the middle of the site, everything you could want and backs right onto the open moor.

For what it's worth, I live about 10 minutes drive from the CP - I assume the woodland is the preferable option.

All are welcome, Ivan has a 12acre site so you can be as social (or not) as you like. You just need to bring your kit and a bag of respect the site.

there is a wonderful camping spot just behind a rock outcrop just before Down Tor around SX574693

If anyone is going to camp here I'd be up for it as its walking distance from home

The Dartmoor fire problem is peat related, that's why it needs to be a stove. There are no such restrictions in the outlying Dartmoor Forest, but there is not a rite to camp their either.

Just a suggestion, but what about the dates on or around when it's the royal wedding?
Plenty of bank hols for everyone. Long weekend perhaps?
