  • Come along to the amazing Summer Moot (21st July - 2nd August), a festival of bushcrafting and camping in a beautiful woodland PLEASE CLICK HERE for more information.
I've heard lots of good things about John.Sapper 1 has been banned.
I'd be up for a weekend out too.Can we sort out some dates?

do you no y sapper1 has been banned??
if we do glyn y mul we will all have to bring along some fire wood so we can keep warm cook etcetc ,ive not been to glyn y mul before but take a look at there site, ive been told it gets wet and boggy are any of you men that are up for this in swansea i can give lifts from swansea :drive:

No idea,it says under his name on the posts banned.
I've heard and read that glyn y mul is very muddy, not really a problem as long as there's some dry areas to pitch.

GYM is very muddy and you may find a nice spot, but that'll be a clean spot you have to get caked to get to.

There are some other sites around and GYM may have improved since I went, but pack your wellies.

Dougster is right about mud, get ready for some, but there are some good camp areas there. Post a date and I'll pop along for a day and a brew of tea.

We done whitford point last year on the kyaks and stayed over night,Paddle from burryport across on high tide stay the night and back on the next high tide day after. It was good fun and peaceful there.

Hi Bowhunter are you on the anglers afloat website? I currently live in aberporth (Cardigan) but i often stay with my dad in Mynydd-y-garreg i kayak quite alot and you say that you camped in the woods in Pembrey? I thought you are not allowed to camp in the forest?

I'm glad there are plenty of people in this area into the same sort of things.

also does anybody know anywhere that allows people to shoot rabbits etc for food or for pest control?

Ooooh, lots of people around =D

I live in Swansea, and would enjoy spending a few nights with people who understand bushcraft a little more than myself =]. I know the basics of a few things, but it would be nice to meet up with a few people and learn a little bit more about... well, everything really =D

I'm not sure if I can do camping anytime soon, I'd have to book time off work and double check I havent got anything on with the family. Still, I'm up for something sometime, even if its just a day trip or something =]

Might see you guys around =D

As I said guys, I'm happy to sort things with Glyn-y-mul, but I need some dates to work with! You post them up, I'll see which dates look best for all and feed back some ideas and make the arrangements.

I currently live in aberporth (Cardigan)QUOTE]
I am just a handful of miles inside Pembs - my closest town is Cardigan...Fancy a meetup?
I canoe (canoe not Kayak) the Tivy quite often and know and love the Tivy Marshes...
PM me if you are interested in a joint paddle or stroll around the Marshes and Cilgerran some time.

had a good camp out in ,gym, i was the only one in the wood which made it even beter ,glad i found this place wasnt expecting it to be that good.
the owls was chating away:)

I live near Carmarthenshire/Pembrokeshire border and would be interested in local meets.
The Preseli hills area is a possilbe wild camp place, I could help with a wild camp/walk - I'm a newcomer to bushcraft but I know my local patch quite well.

Hello John Fenna - I live a few miles down the road from you - own one of your books. Would love to walk and listen with you, when you are out and about sometime.
