Sourcing greenwood spoon blanks or wood for carving

Hi. I was wondering if anyone could give me some suggestions on where to source pieces of wood for carving? Have a garden and allotment but nothing that needs hacking back that's large enough for carving. Based in Hertfordshire. Any ideas?

Whereabouts in Hertfordshire are you?

Just that I know of a couple birch trees that came down over winter by the side of a couple roads that were cut back and the brash is mostly still there to help yourself to.
