I was getting a bit annoyed with mashing stakes with the rounded poll on my hunter. I've been using it for 12 years so it's taken that long to get ****** off enough!

Haha yeah it's served me well. I'm a full time knife maker and a 2x72 grinder is really important. This one is from RPI in Texas. I opted for it because (among other things) the frame is aluminium so getting it across the pond wasn't a huge deal.

That was Trizact "Gator" belt by 3m. I think an A45 so about 400 grit. I used a 36g ceramic, a 60g ceramic, a 120g ceramic, that a45 gator, a medium scotch brite belt and then a fine scotch brite belt.

Thanks for the info.

I recently got myself a 2 by 72 belt grinder.

I powered it off a 1HP motor at first, and have a 3HP three phase now (waiting for me to find its final location in the workshop and to run the wiring for the VFD), and I've been trying out a few belts, among which are those Scotch Brite belts you mention. I've not tried the Trizacts, yet.

No problem. Cool, what did you get? Hit me up if you have any issues with your VFD and the torque contols/rumbling, I may have run in to them in the past.
