I was shooting my bow at glass bottles today and I got an arrow stuck in this bottle. And it cant be pulled out. Has this happened to anybody?

Ok well that did not happen but does anyone know how I got this wooden arrow stuck in this bottle? No glue it is a one piece arrow. Some of you may have seen this trick before.

Well I think I may know but will wait for the 'reveal'.

Did you do this yourself?

I think its done the same way as apples in a bottle. Push the branch in with blosson on it, support it on the limb while it grows and take it down at the end of the season.

I may be wrong and totally bonkers, but thats what you get for listening to jelly babies

Seen these in book before, often with wooden rings on the arrow shaft too,

quite simple really but nonetheless effective - did you do it yourself?

I did do it myself.
Badger74 pretty much got it. It is a peice of staghorn sumac.
You carve out the shaft and feathers and leave a big block on the end. Then boil it and copress it and carve it to a cylinder and put it through the holes in the bottle and put the end in hot water and it expands. Then you carve the arrow head.

Ah - it is a bit like the egg in the bottle trick!
A perfect hens egg in a bottle too narrow in the mouth to let it out!
The trick is to soak the egg in vinegar until the shell goes rubbery, then carefully sqeeze it into the bottle.
Let the vinegar evaporate and the shell goes hard again....

Nice one, but do you think you have too much time on your hands? ;)

Knew the egg one though with the vinegar. Mmmm! Pickled eggs. Off now for dinner.

if you push a piece of burning paper into the bottle then put the egg on the top vacuum will pull it in for you
cheers Danny
