Is that Mariposa Grove as I was at Mariposa Grove about three years ago and there was a big fallen tree called the fallen monarch that is estimated to have been on teh ground for 600 years I think here is a shot of it.

No the one on the ground is soutih of Eureka California and the creek calles fern canyon where they filmed the second Jurrastic Park near Orick.
