Hi all. I started making knives around christmas time last year. Finally managed to sell my first one last week , with another on order. Hopefully the start of something new!

I will post a few photos of some I have made. Enjoy, and feed back is always welcome. There is a mountain to learn in the craft and I am still struggling on some aspects, but making progress!

This was the first knife I sold. Made from Maple and bog oak.

Do you make your blades? I like that open sheath, seen that on African knifes, you got me thinking! :cool2: Ho just a thought and for sure I'm no master but I would refine your handles a bit more just make them finer, aside from that you have your own sense of style and form, stick with it!

After a long time searching i found a local guy who makes blades. I would be more into the rustic style of knife. Although I was planning on trying a few with stainlesd blades. Not much to do during the winter months up here, so plenty of time to mess around in the garage!

Are those Bronze nails you used for the open sheath?
They look exactly as what I am using over here.
I am curious how the knife is retained, please explain!

They are copper ring shank nails that were laying around for ages, so decided to use them. Also made a handle of the nails set in black epoxy resin. Nice effect. The knife stays in by a friction fit. The nails were crimped until it held the knife. A nice click when the knife is pushed home and stays in place!
