Softening up leather after dyeing

Any suggestions for the best thing to soften leather up after dyeing it?

I use Fiebings oil dyes on veg tanned leather and have been using saddlers wax. Just wondered if Neatsfoot oil or Mink oil is the way to go.

Any suggestions welcomed.

I used to use beeswax and heat/work it in but found it made things very stiff I've since kicked on to mink oil and I like it better, nice satin finish but does soften the leather a bit too.

I use mink oil and it works a treat. It does soften it but you don't lose the fit or shape of a wet formed sheath and it keeps it proofed in the elements...

Mink Oil is the way to go, there are three types that I am aware of. Golden Mink Oil leather preserver, Mink Oil paste and liquid.

The Golden Mink Oil has additives like silicone in it and according to Fiebings was formulated for the likes of boots, the Paste is natural and the liquid is blended with Neatsfoot Oil.

I have the leather Preserver and the Paste. I use the Paste on my Barmah as much as anything else and it works a treat. As far as making leather supple it does the job very well.
