Had one earlier

Shish kebabs, piri piri chicken drumsticks, beef and fresh chilly burgers, pork and apple sausages, hot buttered corn on the cob and coccy bananas for pudding :)

Om nom nom

No point in me having a bbq today... missus has bu99ered off for the weekend line prancing and I can't be arsed to do one just for myself...

Now where's the takeway menus folder? :D

My daughter has been out back burning meat for a couple of hours, I'll order an Indian meal for two later and work my way through it slowly.

"so who is having a bbq"

not me! I've had a pork & tater vindaloo festering all day. Supper will be that and a tossed salad; later on when its a bit cooler & I've finished weeding the yard.

Just sat down to digest my first ever effort at "beer can chicken', which was very good, but didn't seem to have gained any particular flavour from the beer - just moist, juicy chicken. I quite enjoyed drinking the remaining Old Speckled Hen though :D

As always, I had to do sausages and burgers for the kids (apparently it's not a 'proper bbq' without them).

I'm not, it's too hot outside, I'm lying in air conditioned comfort, contemplating the chicken and lentil madras I made at the weekend.
I've got a couple of portions in the freezer that could stand eating.

Not me either....or is it neither? been to a Chinese earlier,
scrumshuss spring rolls, hot and sour soup (my favourite) crispy duck,
chicken satay and beef chow mein,
ice cream with Tetley Smooth on the go, no Guinness on the premises. :(

It was a fight for the crispy duck.

Beef ribs on the smoker, potatoes baked on the smoker, corn on the cob; all served tomorrow with strawberries (in syrup) and ice cream over shortcake. Oh, and a watermelon. Fireworks after dark.

Did a BBQ for over a hundred people this afternoon. Burgers, hotdogs and all the trimmings.
My one disappointment was that my "Satanic Sauce" made with tomatoes, garlic, onions and Scotch Bonnets that I thought would lead to charges of "administering a toxic substance" had all gone by the time I had a chance to eat.

Not got a BBQ. Only got a back yard that's tarmaced and needs clearing out so nowhere nice to have one. That's why I've never had one. Keep thinking of getting one for by a lake somewhere but not worth it solo.

I've got not very appetising food to cook OR a takeaway. Which one to go for? Chinese that is in my town and I can walk to collect or a Curry from an excellent place about 10 minutes drive (each way) away? Then there is the choice of meals at both. I never know what to get. Kinda like a kid in a candy shop for me I get overwhelmed. End up panicking and getting either sweet and sour king prawns or Szechuan OR Rogan Josh or this hot and sour curry they do. Lost my menu so have to wait at either. No deliveries here so have to get out to get them.

Oh! And my bloody hayfever is killing me too. Went out for a walk and noticed that all the grass heads are releasing pollen when you tap them. You can see the dust like pollen coming off the heads and carried away but the breeze!! Fortunately away from me but some were hitting me and I now have amazingly sore and blood shot eyes, totally blocked nose and on top of that the hayfever tablets I took this morning haven't helped the hayfever but is definitely making me drowsy. Or was it that late night last night that is doing that?

Any good BBQ recipes then??

no time a bbq today, for today was the day that we held a joint party for our three girls. They were all dressed as princesses and princes. I was the king and swmbo was the queen. Fun day but I'm cream crackered.

Oh! And my bloody hayfever is killing me too.

Not sure why but my hayfever seems to have disappeared the last few years, I've had one sneezing fit one morning and that's been it this year.

It was the itchy eyes that used to do my head in the most.

LOL. In your case I's recommend a bowl of oatmeal and a cup of tea (both sweetened with local honey) then a hot bath followed by another cup of honey sweetened tea and an early bedtime.
