In North East Scotland we have had lots of sunshine for the first part of April, with daytime max temperatures of 15-20C. Trees have been coming into leaf earlier than usual.
We have has friends staying with us, and yesterday I took then up Bennachie (518m), the nearby hill, we had rain and hail on the way up and snow on the top. It looks like we are back to more usual April weather.
The larches were coming into leaf and the red cone buds were flowering, the wood sorrel was also flowering and the woods looked wonderful despite the weather!
Regards,
Doug.
