I am having Stuart Mitchell make me a belt sheath knife, which is a convex ground knife with lots of belly. I intend this knife to be my cutter, making feather sticks, preparing food etc

I much prefere a small knife for carving, and much prefere scandi grind for this task. So i am going to compliment that knife with a matching small neck knife with a scandi grind. Its going to be stainless as it dosnt need to be tough but hold a super edge. about 2" lond with a straight part to the blade and a curve.

I have a rough idea as to the design but wondered what other designs people would choose for a small general purpose carving knife?

Maybe pics would be cool!

Thanks,

Ash

BRKT OMF definitely

I have one myself and its a superb knife, does much more than you would normally ask of a knife that size. convex ground with a semi wharncliff blade - very useful shape, matches up nicely with a drop point bigger blade

The banks of the Deveron.
Currently working on a Stuart M no3 which will compliment my new hefty one. I will let you know when it's done - it has stainless fittings and desert wood burr - I'm looking forward to it.
