Wow silk is expensive! I'd still prefer my thermals... they are cheaper and have more use even outside of camping. But it's your money and your choice.
I think I'd buy one if I was youth hosteling or travelling to warmer climes to use instead of a heavier bag. As I'm not likely to do that , I won't be getting one.
I do have a cheap tesco cotton one but it only got one night's use. I couldn't get on with it at all. I'd suggest getting a cheaper one to try out first before you shell out lots of cash. Just my pennies worth :) happy to be ignored on this if you feel you want one. Lots of people love their silk inners.
Just wondering if silk pyjamas/thermals would work as well and be as warm as a liner.
Can you imagine .... that's posh bushcraft! :) :) :)

I love the idea of silk pj's! I have tried a thermal liner and didn't get tangled up in it. I've ordered a -7 celcius three season bag and the liner is for emergency cold nights and reduced washing. My sensible head is saying waaaaaaay too expensive. My shopaholic is saying silk... must have...

You know you can buy silk longjohns and shirts ?

The inner bag mom made was made from a silk cloth which did not have that super glossy surface, more a rough surface.

I do not turn much when I sleep.

As both were sewn like a sack, no front opening, it was quite a learning curve to get into the sleeping bag.
Plus, if I overdid the tea, to get out for a wee in the night.

I think a good sleeping bag is one of the most important pieces of equipment. Shoes too.

Thanks. I've ordered a nice bag. Just waiting for that and combining two bags until it arrives.

They are good for stopping your bag ponging if you are being energetic, not showering and also like a drink at the end of the day .. which can perfume your perspiration for you :) But, as Nice said ... they can tangle in your underluggage

Oh dear! Kit monkey syndrome is setting in early here . it is a terrible disease you know! Empty pocket syndrome follows and you end up living in the woods eating wild food and drinking puddle water from a life straw! . :) :) :)
