We have signal crayfish up here in the north east. Maybe 200 miles+ too far N.E though :/ However if you fancy a camp they are free for all to take in the River Nairn ;-)

hi mate welcome to the forum

if you look on the enviroment agency website there is no signal crayfish reported in any northeast waters plus you need a liscence to catch them and they wont give you one for the northeast as you will only catch native ones which is a big no no

hope this helps andy

Hi do you know any other NE rivers where they are? I looked into this a few years back and thought we didn't have any.

What a load of rubbish. For 40 years I have fished the tyne and derwent and through this time I have seen a steady rise in the number of red signal crayfish to the point last year when iwas having a break during fly fishing eating my dinner I threw a piece of bread in the warter for the ducks the red signals had it before a quack could be heard

Try river derwent Tyne and Wear above the salwell road bridge around the blaydon rugby club area although a valid licence must be had.it is private prop so a word to the rugby club prob best
