What's the thing on the left?
@ Muddypaws;
I'm intrigued to know what the item that looks like a brake lever is ( a brake lever? ), and what it's purpose is?
It is a brake lever from a defunct Honda Cub. Only now it has a small tungsten carbide turning tool tip mounted in the end. The slight radiused edge of the insert is used to turn a hooked edge on my scrapers, which are near it in the photo.
Here's what I tend to use:
Gransfors large Swedish carver
Ben Orford medium spoon knife
Andrew Kirkham/ Woodlore crooked knife
Kellam fixed blade pocket knife
Rob Evans Bushtool - though all of my knives tend to get used when I'm carving I just alternate to see which I like and this is doing well so far
Andrew kirkham one is new - got it for making things rather than for spoonage I'm really pleased with it its a lovely tool
Hey clouston how do yer get on with the crooked knife (mocotogan thingy).do yer use it much.ive always fancied one of them.
