Just finished one of the new ones (except sheath, lanyard, firesteel)...

Materials ready...

Get sticky...

Get even stickier...

Start shaping up...

And after a bit more shaping up...

Not perfect, and in need of a little more cleaning, but not too bad I think .

I have a set of Sammies, but they have had the edges ground off. Might start by putting the edge back on them lol.

Made some mosaics, bonded liners and scales to blank, outlined scales to handle profile, treated with hardener, waiting for hardener to set...

Yes they are girlie liners, it's going to Ivan's daughter lol.

It's from Ivan's place Darren...spalted beech, and plenty more up there too. I just have to take my axe up to knock a few chunks off .

Thanks Tom. Went with the high grind to make it more delicate. It's only 3.2mm O1 too, so keeps the weight down even more. Ivan's daughter is only 13 (I think) so it needs to be usable for her.

Wow !! Adam , to think that handle was a log in the woods on Sunday , fantastic effort mate , i think she has had to retire , but will steer her in the right direction tomorrow , so as she can drool ! and thank you , cheers pal another stirling effort , that beech looks great ... It was still in the woods Monday lol.
No problem Katie. It's not perfect in looks, but it is shaving sharp (although not to Al's "hair popping" standard ) and is nice and light for you.
Just gotta work out what design of sheath to make now haha.
