Shaving kit

So, this technically falls under bladed kit, but what does everyone use for shaving when out for extended periods, and then for at home?

I've moved away from disposable razors, the Gillette style razors and safety razors and moved to a straight razor, but I know for practicality sakes it's not ideal to use when out and about.

So what do you guys use?

Oh, I do shave .. my forearm everytime I use the strop or sharpen my tools...

My left arm mainly....

Never shave when I am not working.
When I shave I use a Philips electric shaver, Made in Holland.

Until Christmas 2015 I used the same safety razor whether i was at home or out in the woods (although i shaved less while out)

Then that particular Christmas the kids gave me an electric shaver. I use it at home and still haven't set a new pattern for out and about.

Bit different but when camping hillwalking it's a travel size battery shaver only. Tiny size

At home, Weber/Slim adjustable, Lab blues, but the most wonderful part is the home made shave soap with Stag tallow and nipple cream.

I use a gillette Mach 3. Sure I know that the gillette ladies razors are targetted at us girls, but I find that mach3 blades are cheaper, and work just as well when it comes to shaving my legs and arm pits...

Not sure I'd like to try with a straight razor, esp near the femoral artery...

It is a weird world. Slap a bit of pink plastic on something, and voila you have a "female" object you can charge more for.

Have you people ( being gender neutral here) seen the "female" handguns? Pink grips, pink frames, sometimes even pink slides....

There is a phrase for that. "Shrink it and pink it." Will never understand it, I don't like pink and it makes buying stuff a pain. Esp when there is a genuine difference in the design of the item for women (think jackets to accommodate boobs, and trousers to accommodate bum shape), then they go and make the item only available in PINK or some other bright colour. While making the mens one in Black or green...

But we digress...

As for currently. I am looking at a shavette, something I can fit a small blade into, and in an emergency can be used as a knife also without breaking my straight razor.

When I haven't got a beard I use a 3 piece razor for shaving when I have my beard just an electric trimmer for tidy ups and the 3 piece for my neck Mach 3s can sod off cause untold in growing hairs etc plus the cost is ridiculous.

I don't bother when away camping, home kit is a Bluebeards Revenge razor that I think is a rebranded Edwin Jagger, I use Gillette Silver Blue blades, Taylor's of Old Bond Street cream, and a lovely boar brush.

Travel, same razor, stick of Arko, and a travel brush.

Wife used to use the excellent German product that was a purified foodgrade Lanolin. Son is 5 inches taller than me!

Now I'm out of the mob, I have a winter beard and shave in the summer (the hot summers here in France are more comfortable beardless).

After years of uncomfortable shaving with modern multi-blade jobs (I have a heavy beard on sensitive skin), I was turned onto the joys of the old fashioned safety razor and brush (one pass each with, across and against the grain).

I use an Ikon 2PB safety razor (no longer made unfortunately) with Wilkinson Sword black label blades (cheap as chips), Proraso menthol preshave cream, sandalwood soap in a wooden bowl and a premium badger bristle brush. This has turned shaving from a chore into a bit of face pampering and I only need shave every 2-3 days, as opposed to every day like I used to.

The initial outlay for the 'gear' is expensive - but much like a straight razor - it will pay for itself with the savings made on not buying the obscenely expensive modern replacement multi-blades.
