Was out walking with my old boy today and seen a pine that I can only describe as having "rusty"bark in that there was a big orange tinge on it that has great resemblance to rust, I saw this in an almost inteirely pine ecology though I've seen the same thing on a sycamore in a decidous woodland.

Does anyone know what it is? Initially I thought it was pollution but these trees were a good couple of miles from anywhere and it only occurred on a few trees.

Also I've seen what in sure must be sea buckthorn on some sand dunes but apart from the wee things being covered in orangeish berries they otherwise appeared to be completely dead, is this normal?

Cheers
