Renew suede

I've a bautiful pair of gloves in suede, but last day they were soaked in a very long walk (it was raining dogs and cats!). After drying the surface of suede appears very dry and crumpled. Any suggestion how restoring the original smooth and soft feeling of the suede?

A soft brass wire brush usually does the trick

Yup, I've used a suede shoe cleaning brush to get the pile back; nice and cheap and does the job!
