Religion/Spritial beliefs in bushcraft??

OK, I'm gonna unlurk now :)

My parents never bothered to get me baptised into any religion, although I did go to a CofE primary school (all the others were full). I never felt comfortable in church, although I did like some of the singing, and I think of the bible as a collection of short stories. I 'discovered' paganism properly when I was about 15 and have idly wandered that path ever since.

I've always had a deep respect for nature and believe in taking nothing unless I actually 'need' it, and then I always give thanks and sometimes, but not always, make some sort of offering. Saying that, I am also a meat-eater and wear leathers on the bike ;)

Hi Abbe,

Im not one that gets on well with the spiritual side of things myself, but have flicked through that and think it looks like an interesting read and will give it a shot. Thanks for sharing it. :)

Hi Abbe,

I have just read your section on spritualism. I thought that it was brilliant and was feeling or allowing the feeling of calmness fill me until I got to the section where a 'feeling of pressure fills your chest and not a feeling of space and freedom' and the subsequent thought thereafter  the 'colourful' language somewhat hit me like a brick as it's the last thing I expected. :) Good piece of advice though mate. From now on I am 'canoeing' to work.

Looking forward to reading more of your site ;)

Matt.

I am happy that it reached your heart. There is so much to learn believe me, check when I wrote the part, it was so long ago because I am myself are struggling and didnt want to write something new before I could really live it myself. Sometimes it works for me and sometimes I fall flat on my face.

Fight on brother, we are all sitting in the same boat!

all the best
Abbe
