Hi guys

I have heard some rumours about the LD20 so I thought I'd get them clarified before I bought one.

Is it true that to use all of the modes the torch has, you have to use Ni-MH batteries? I heard this in one of the reviews of the torch.

Also, there seems to be many different versions of the torch. I know the R4/R5 difference, but is this the same as Q4/Q5 which I have seen listed on some sites?

Cheers in advance,

Chris.

Depends on what colour batch your emitter is? Assuming you are talking about XPG LED's Cool white will give the highest flux/brightness with R3,R4 and R5. Then Outdoor white with R2, R3 and R4. You don't get to the Q codes until Neutral white with Q5, R2 and R3 and Q4 is only found in the 80-cri white colour group and below.

Just get an LD25 - runs very happily on everything from cheap alkalines onwards. Mine was £30 and if I buy another torch it will be another LD25.
