Red currants?

Found a glut of these whilst walking the dog. Can someone backup the ID please? or am i way off

I'm suspecting Guelder Rose rather than redcurrant

The berries dont look like currants to me either, wrong time of year too, as currants fruit early summer ( mine do anyway).

Only mildly so and only then in large quantities. I've eaten it with no ill effects - its not palatable raw though.
