Evening all

Just been doing a bit of late night research and am looking for a hand made Nessmuk style knife. I've heard Dale Chudzinski is a good maker. Anyone had any dealings with Dale or can you recommend another maker?

Cheers!

FGYT does a mean Nessmuk style knife matey, or fiddleback forge, or stickshooter(google will help), Have you searced for the nessmuk threads on here dude, there is some proper Nessy porn going on, I love his style,

Forgotten about Duncan (FGYT) - he does make a lovely knife too :). But we aren't friends now cos his wife hasn't bought me "man sweets" for ages :(

;)

Wow Red, that is a beautiful little set up you've got going on there. I believe the term is 'green with envy'!. Cheers for the ideas Southey, I'll see if I can find some more ideas in the threads. An evening of 'Nessy Porn' it is!

I have a Chudzinski. It's a great Nessmuk. Forge finished O1 blade with butternut wood scales, amazing edge. I got it from BB classifieds so not dealt with the maker. But his knives are very sound indeed. Highly recommended. I have a couple of JoJo's too. Also very good. I've seen a couple of stunning Alan Wood Nessies.

Adam of JLT knives has made a couple. I don't have one, but have 3 of his other knives, excelent knives & a great bloke to deal with.

I have a JLT nessie, its lovely. No pics at the mo, sorry. Its not one of the horn handled 'original' Nessie styles but a standard wood slab with mosiac pin handle, lovely to use and holds an amazing edge.

I really like the small nessmuk fiddleback forge make. To my eye the lines are just right.

and how much would you cry if you managed to damage that nice trio? hehe ;)

Do you mean "damage it again" ? Knives and axes get damaged all the time. When my wife bought the axe for me, I asked for three helves so that I could swap them out when the inevitable happened.

You should see the pictures of what I did to the PFK over time! But a good sharpen, a bit of elbow grease and it comes back to life.

I know its off topic but how is the PFK? Such a knife as that I've never seen since....what a package!

Graeme :D

Its fine - it alternates with a few other knives. These days I don't get the woods time that I used to (too busy on the homestead :)). I use this little beauty that FYGT gave me (like a mini PFK - makes a great knife for pigeons and rabbits and carries beatifully in the Topknot pocket pouch)
