Really peed off

Well chaps, I'm really peed off. After what I thought was an 'all clear' the latest broncoscopy has confirmed I have TB.

Six months of therapy ahead, so if I step out of line just put it down to me being a grumpy old git (even more than usual)

On the other hand, you know what it is now and it's getting proper treatment.

One of my neighbours has had it, and I know the effect it's had on him and his family.
Not funny, but there is an end in sight from the disease and the cure, and he's well again and life's good.

TB is rife around here 1/3 of the UK TB cases are in/around Bradford.

Still at least the Welsh Assembly wont be cullng you now.

Hi Rik,
Sorry to hear that mate. Yes at one point we had effectively erradicated TB in the UK (in humans), but with the increase in immigration, TB has got a 'foot hold' again in the UK.
Also the amount of spitting has dramatically increased (at one time it was concidered antisocial). Things like that help to increase the spread of TB.

Thank you all for the replies, much appreciated.

Stoves are no no for now, no burning paraffin, naptha, meths, wood or using aerosols all of which can irritate the old lungs At last I know what is wrong and its not the COPD or cancer that to be honest I thought it might well be.

I have one meet planned for the end of October and I intend to be there for that no matter what

Oh, that is grotty.

Please be sure to have the oxy levels in your blood checked, and lung function.

My late fathers wife had a lung infection (not TB) and it wrecked her health.

She died because in spite of the checks her blood wasnt getting the oxy in, and her kidneys, heart and liver failed.

(best have these checked too.)
