Hhat knife is it that you used for the basis of the project?

yup... the knife needed new handle, and wouldnt fit back into the sheath.
the knife stays in a groove in the the top layer of wood which is elm...allthe over layers of wood are willow... with holes in them so you can weave it together with leather stips...
