After around 12 months of this axe being available I would ask anybody who has one are they worth the extra over a Small Forest

I've never owned a SMFA Steve but I wouldn't swap my Wilderness for anything now.

(Well maybe a damascus Cegga :))

I've never seen one, let alone used one, but all Gransfors axes are superb, if they do what you need them to do. I'd suggest thinking carefully about what you need an axe to do, and making your choice based on this. I have a Gransfors carver, which I love using but I consider myself to be a green woodworker rather than a bushcrafter.

Cheers

My Small Forest Axe is now redundant, thanks to the Wilderness Axe. I would definitely recommend it over the SFA as it can do just that bit more a bit more readily. As with most Gransfors axes, the mask does need a rethink. A big thumbs up for the Wilderness.
