I have been to a couple of outdoor shows, the tickets are issued on a first come first served basis, but are(were) free. I will be at this one, had to miss the last couple because it has clashed with a scouting event, "volounteering doesn't pay!"

I was - from a perspective of someone looking simply at camping and accessories - really quite dissapointed by the last outdoor show. There was a lot of stuff for the specialised outdoor activities, and loads of stalls for countries selling themeselves as a travel destination; but there seemed very little to cover folks just wanting to go camping.

Not only that, but I could only find one trader selling Thermarests (Blacks) and they had appeared to have hiked the price of the only one they had in stock. Bah!

On the other hand, against all experiance I'm quite an optimist; so I'll probably be going again this year!

Had a quick look through the site and there's some interesting exhibitors.

One of the things that caught my eye was the 'Survival Skills' demos being done by the Girl Guides....
