I have a crook knife similar to the one above. Does anyone have any ideas how to protect the blade for transport and safety ??

Dave,

A piece of bike innertobe epoxied shut at one end will pull snugly over the blade. If you want to go "posh", a screw shut police "weapons tube" works real well (I can bung one in the post to you if you PM me your address)

I have a sharpened hoof knife and I have used a eurohike KFS cover for it. It is a cloth and mesh cover with a zip on the front, the blade goes into the bottom and the zip holds it in place. It is what I had knocking around and it works well.
