It's not just words though; it's the 'handler's' attitude, behaviour, praise, etc., that helps train the dog to good habits.

Mess that up and it confuses / annoys the dog enough that it will ignore the falsely given command.

Guide dogs are selectively bred ....they aim for temperament and trainability and a kind of cleverness too

Post hole or poo hole, I find this much more useful than an entrenching tool.

I see the UK advice has now changed to stick and flick (into the bushes), from bagging and packing out, as folk prefer to hang poop bags from trees. No mention of toilet paper so I think they were referring to doggies only. Unsurprisingly this is becoming a big problem in many popular parts, including the human waste aspect, ditto in the US/Canada. In the past I've always been burn and bury, and may be have to change.

PACT do fancy kits for both options

Anybody had any experience of poo bagging and packing out? do you pick it up with a bag over your hand like dog poo? Pretty certain I'm not going to be able to balance and blindly bomb aim into a bag!

If you dig a deeper scrape and bury it , mark it ( not so you can retrieve it at a later date ) thats probably a better solution for dirty Humans unless you're tactically inclined.

That particular TV presenter also insisted on using a vocabulary and tone for dogs that you couldn’t pay me to use. With my feet held to the flame I would never utter the term “walkies!”

Toddy is absolutely right not to publicise the Guide dog command - it could be misused by other than the dog owner.

I remember the voice and tone. Sadly, my parents were better dog trainers than parents and didn't understand the difference. It was Woodhouse who caused me to realise my mother sounded just the same.
I never did come to heel or accept commands...

Take a piece of cling film, and lay it over you hand, crap into your palm then wrap in clingfilm and then put in a bag.
Bonus hand warmer if it’s cold.

If I tried to do the clingfilm one in the wild I'd fall over.
Had to do one of those older persons stool test recently at home sitting down and found that hard enough.

Put your back against a tree or a rock, feet wide. Just be very sure your boots grip! DAMHIK. Gives you both hands on the bag. Wouldn’t risk cling film but can see how it might work.

I have little balance these days but that method is easy. Often uncomfortable but easy.

I really can’t be bothered to google search this, but there is a dedicated product. A strap goes round you, round the tree, and clips back onto you, so you can lean back and have a good dump without losing your balance.

The cling film idea is pretty disgusting, as is trying to crap in a bag. I don’t drink these days, but in my youth trying to catch and contain the aftermath of 8 pints of Guinness and a curry in my hands doesn’t bear thinking about.

Not very, judging by my experience with kitchen waste compostable bags, still turning them up 3 yrs after they went into the compost heap.

When a product is described as "compostable" it doesn't necessarily mean in a compost bin in your back garden (aerobic composting).

It very often means that it can go into your local refuse service's anaerobic digester.
