Poncholiner uses and benefits???

Hi guys,
I have a (probably silly) question; what's the use and what are the benefits of a poncho liner??
Do you tie it to the poncho, so you could sleep under it? And if so, how warm does it keep you?

You've got the idea. It was designed as a lightwieght alternative for a sleeping bag in mild climates. It's warm enough in mild weather or as a supplement to your main system in cooler weather. Whatever else it can be used for is only limited by your imagination.

Cats dont like poncho liners, so i use mine as a leg cover while watching TV in the winter, dont get perferated legs from the cats claws then

As well as all the above, I use mine over my folding chair to insulate me from below and behind.

Presumably they only fit US Army ponchos or have I just made that up? Will they fit a German or British 58 pattern?

a great addition to a poncho for some added insulation. we also use ours as a layer between our inflatable mattress and sleeping bags. when sleeping in the car when on the Mac Challenge, it made a nice warm blanket too.

The US poncho liner fits the 58 patt poncho, it also matches up with the lacing inside the brit issue warm weather bag, i lace the two up when i want a slightly warmer summer bag.
