For sure. But for the odd bit of sawing a bahco does the job just fine and until 12 months ago at £12 was very good value.
A decent bow saw is cheaper than a silky, and better.

I have a Laplander I still use 
I have three bowsaws from 12" to 30"
They all work
I have a pocket chainsaw that sucks
I have a trench saw that works - but needs two men!
My silkies kick all of them though
That said - My Husqys kick all!

I've found bow saws dreadful in green timber; they jam like billy-ho. The Silky is a beast once you get use to the in-stroke cutting action.
My bow saw is really good and wasn't expensive, the sheer length of cut makes it so much easier. But as red said the right blade is important.
It did cross my mind but I'm too lazy. I love the simplicity of just reaching into my pack,or my belt and pulling out a wicked saw.
Why did you have to say that, I have a model engine sat here and a gallon of fuel but no use for it!
You won't regret buying the silky saw. I now have a gardening buisness & use mine nearly every time i go out on jobs.
