Bit of a plumbers delight as I handled this firesteel with plumbing fittings, was going to use a bit of Yew I had set aside but that's now being used for a SAK re handling job .
I originally thought it might be a good idea to extend the handle and utilise the hollow copper tube to hold matches or some form of tinder like those Spark-Lite tabs but went the plain handle... easy route .
I used a 15mm end cap and a 15mm to 8mm reducer, had to grind a little of the steel for it to fit and it's held in place with epoxy.
The lanyard loop is a brass cable connector soldered on the end cap.
Size wise it's turned out not much bigger than the plastic handle on the LightmyFire models, although a bit heavier.
Cheers, Pete.
