Please help me identify this tree

Google this time has let me down! so could I ask if anyone could shed some light as what this tree is and more importantly as I plan to carve some spoons from it, if it contains any nasty chemicals

p.s where do I upload an image to here? all I can see is an http box but not a way to uload an image from my phone

I don’t know how familiar you are with file handling but:

Basic Dropbox is free.
When you’ve shared a picture with your Dropbox account all you do is tap on the link symbol and a link is copied to your clip board. All you have to do then is to click onto your new post in BcUK, tap [paste] and a link will appear - job done.

Populus alba or White Poplar ​

so my next question is: is this would safe to use for kitchen utensils?
