;) Yep.

I have a better picture....but not of a better fish! Although I know a spot where I plan to camera fish over the next couple of weeks....they run 3lb plus there...hes a scant pound and a half I guess

She's a beauty. Too expensive to buy a set of fly rod :( One of the things that I've always wanted to pick up.

singteck

RED: you need a polariser lense :D

Its not as expensive as you might think ;) The last time i bought a rod for a friend it was only about 15 squid including a reel. I think i even have a spare if your ever passing :)

Lovely photos!

I'm sorry, but I prefer spinning tackle.
I got a lovely ultra light rod here.
6'2''
2~6lb line.
0.8~4grm casting weight.
It throws a 3grm spoon a very surprising distance.
I've had a 5lb carp on it. (Foul hooked:( ) So it's strong.
I'd love to have a trout like the ones pictured here on it.

Regarding fly tackle.
Just my opinion. I don't wish to start a quarrel.
Although cheap fly tackle will work,
for the money you will get better quality buying spinning gear.
I've foolishly spent a couple of grand over the last 5~6 years on fishing stuff.

However trout places in the UK don't like lure fishermen.
Happily for me the Japanese don't have any such problems about it.
When I catch a Yamame I'll send a picture.

Best regards,
JC.

Now theres a super fish - never been fishing (well, slung a couple of spinners over the back of a boat for mackerel 20 years ago). Another thing to learn one day

This is my best effort to date on a fly rod!

Trout13pound.jpg

He was caught in Hampshire last year.

He weighed in at just over thirteen pounds and was caught on a hairs ear nymph on a 5 weight rod and a floating line.

Pfff, that's photoshoped for sure  ;)

I just hope that my fishing this summer will be as good as yours was. Although I have the gear to make flies for fly fishing, I don't have the rod and expertise to go do so.

Good post and good pictures folks !

It was a good day!

I have to say it took about 5 weeks to eat that bugger. It was trout for breakfast, dinner and tea.

Nobody else in the house likes trout:eek:

I only wish I had caught it just before a scout camp. I know they would have loved cooking this one over a camp fire.

Biggest I've managed is a 17.5 lb Salmon from the Usk some time back.
It was the record for the year from that stretch.
