Well as it says just ordered an Old Town Discovery 169 should be here in 2-5 days first trip is to goto Eilean and scout for wild camp site and paddle the loch on the island, a loch within a loch

No, The loch is low just now so would need to move it 10/12m to store it, when the loch comes up its 6/8m

It's a good boat - good length, nice to paddle, indestructible. It will last forever.
Interesting that it came with airbags already fitted.

The buoyancy came with the order (got a throw line, PBA, motor mount) and I just stuck them in as its the easiest place to store them.

The Disco 169 is a sturdy solid boat with loads of capacity, you'll be able to fill it with dutch ovens and it'll still float. Not sure about those seat backs. Do they come off to give you the chance to reverse the canoe to paddle solo or not?
