I once did a 400km relay race with a team of friends from university. We used huntingdogs, lapdogs, all breeds imaginable. Ofcourse we finished last but it was great fun and all the other teams thought it was great of us to prove that you didn't need trained huskies to partisipate and join the fun.
Have you tried nordic style as in the dogs pulling your load on a pulk?

No, I haven't tried using a pulk. I think I'm going to build a sledge though, but the rods connected to you and the pulk on pulks put me off them just because it's another point for it to fail at. Would be handy on the downhills though.

That race sounds great fun, we have one day of racing here a year, I just watch, but it always looks great fun with a team of 8 dogs.
