Got given a whole box of candles today, in it was an odd one in a ceramic pot marked `prices candles`

its clearly beeswax, but different to the wax I know

its clear brown, after the fashion of a Pears soap, very soft and sweet smelling

Prices are known for their top quality candles, could this one just be very refined wax?

Nope, you got a gem :D
Real beewax, just cleaned up but not *purified* smells gloriously of honey, and it keeps that scent and a little of the taste in mixes like lipsalve and handcream. It also makes wonderful furniture polish.
Lovely, and Prices make really H.Q. candles, as near to smokeless as it's possible to get.

cheers,
Toddy
