Are there many differences from the DPM desert version? Could be an interesting alternative to the Norrøna Svalbard Anojacket.

There are two differences that i can see- the Olive one has zips in the arm pits for venting (i modded my windproof with these- they are fantastic), and the other, main difference is that wheras the Desert DPM version you speak of is almost certainly a genuine issue item, the Olive Green one on Ebay isn't. That's not to say it isn't good quality, but the quality of these aftermarket smocks does vary- £45 is not the cheapest price for an olive smock on Ebay, so it may be a good quality version.

The Ebay advert also says its made of cotton twill- not sure if that is accurate or not. The current issue Desert DPM (and indeed the temperate DPM) smock is polycotton.

I had one of those jackets and it seemed really good until I started to wear it. I had to sell it on because there wasn't enough room in the shoulders for me. If you're a "normal" build it should be a good buy.
