Nikwax Cotton Proof

Hey folks; I have just finished messin with my swedish smock and was wondering if putting some Nikwax cotton proof would help with water proofness or hurt it,,doesn't matter??

It won't hurt it, just make it a bit more water resistant.

Mine was a bit water resistant when I bought it and then I dyed it, now its not.

Lets us know if it works.

Yep, won't damage it but unless the fabric is tightly woven it won't help with waterproofness.......& if you wash it, you'll have to re- proof it again

I did it to mine and it did'nt seem to make much of difference to it I machine washed mine then line dryied it. Some people say to handwash it and then tumble dry it. That make the differnce. Should also point out mine was dyed green before I got it, so that may have affected the Nikwax.
