I've done a few in different things, accounting when I was younger, a few craft things. I'm regularly looking around here to see if there's something that I can go and do and there's nothing really, maybe that's the issue with living so far west.

I think, TBH, they've been taken over by online courses and webinars everywhere.

Yes , but equally what a shame. Digital tech is great for providing things remotely but the one constant thing I hear growing isn't education levels but loneliness. Meeting and interacting with people seems to be harder and harder for some.

No doubt some just refrain completely and stick to forums like digital denizens. :)

Spanish, before I went to Spain for a few months.

I did find it easier to "read" the Spanish newspapers than listen to / watch the news there. The newsreaders seem to be able to talk at warp speed for several minutes without taking a breath. And I'd catch maybe one word in a hundred or so.

Depending on your newspaper they are carefully targeted at an anticipated readership. Some UK papers are written for a reader of eight years old.

Very well done for tackling the writing and not just the spoken language. I’ve been all over the world but only picked up enough bits of spoken language to get by.
