Hi Folks

Nice straight hazel sticks would anyone be able to supply?
Prefer around the 1.25mtr in length

Give me a shout if you can help.

Hope I don't get me knuckles wrapped for sticking (pardon the pun!) this on here.:slap:

Cheers

Thank you. Hazel nuts. Ours is Corylus cornuta, a multipurpose, many-stemmed shrubby tree used by many of our native peoples for (probably) thousands of years.
If we wanted straight sticks, such as for poles, hiking staffs or canes, we would select birch (Betula sp), Alder (Alnus sp.) or the highly figured Diamond Willow (Salix sp.)
There is a rustic furniture shop just down my street which uses Diamond Willow almost exclusively. They harvest 4-6 cords each spring and keep an 5-6 year inventory of wood.
