Water isn't easy to find on the downs and what there is of dubious value in terms of whats got into it. There are some springs, but even these will need purifying. Best bet is to polish up your polite voice and ask someone for a refill of your water bottle. We used to carry a larger fold up plastic bottle we'd fill up to cover us overnight.
