The Butane inserts I have used worked well and were relatively cheap. Sourcing the fuel was problematic at times but, where I live my only reasonable options are the small plumbing canisters which can be hard to find.

In a bigger city or urban area, cigar and cigarette shops should have what you need to keep a Butane insert fueled at a reasonable cost.

Small batteries so, a normal charger will heat them up and shorten their lifespan and you have to buy new ones much sooner.
