new spiders in my garden

hi all just thought i would share these pics i took today up the back of my garden of a load of new spiders i found.

my guess would be from the markings that they are garden spiders but i'm no expert. the markings do look cool though

Looks like a nest of Araneus diadematus. Don't know what the English name is, but they are the ones with a cross on their back.

Baby garden spiders! Wait till they get into a big ball, then poke it and watch them 'explode;' outwards. Great fun! okenest:

Nice Photos

Had a big ball of them in my back garden last year until the local nesting birds found them. It was great watching them come and take the spiders then fly up into the rafters of the house to feed their chicks.
