New (old) saw

Just picked up this cross cut saw for larger logs before splitting with an axe. I've been looking at some YouTube videos on sharpening it - my plan is to place it in a vice between two planks of wood and use a file on the teeth, alternating direction. Does this sound about right?

You may need a tool to set the offset angle of the teeth left and right.

On a saw that age the teeth will need setting for sure i'd think

From the photo it looks like they have never been set or even sharpened.

It would be nice to see it once it's done
