hi and welcome, i'm a newish memeber and finding my way, have been finding my way for over a decade now and still finding new stuff out and being surprised by what's out there, kit and skills and most of all, knowledge.
if it was my £250 i was spending, and i was starting out a fresh, i'd try and convince someone i really enjoyed spending time with to go on a short course with you. then you'd see a lot more people with a knowledge to advise you. then go from there, and have a dabble at everything and anything until you find your path.
my interests started with prep for the forces, and quickly became specialised with aspects of survival and outdoors living, and now going down the tracking and hunting route of bushcraft etc, not saying other paths won't be taken, but thats the one thats floating my boat at the moment.
kit wise, don't spend all your dollar on forming a massive list of stuff you'll never use, start with the basics and go from there. get Ray's bushcraft book and some little gems books on birds and animals, maybe seashore animals etc and get out and enjoy!
have fun!
Rob
