New Charles May Knife.

Just got this in the mail yesterday, it's by a knifemaker here in the USA named Charles May, he calls it a Holt Collier Special, which it's my understanding that Holt Collier was a sort of hunting guide for Theodore Roosevelt in his outdoorsman days.

It has a 4 inch blade of D2 with Desert Ironwood scales.

Yes it does look very like a Gene Ingram, the circle as part of the logo is pretty much the same place as one of Gene's and the handle design, in fact it is somewhat similair to this that I had custom made 18 months ago.

Good eye, Gene Ingram and Charles May actually live fairly close to each other, and Gene Ingram taught Charles May about knife making.

I have to say the blade shape on the May is nicer than on the Ingram.

The handle though...well I just don't get on with those sort of grips.

Thanks for the compliments, just for kicks, here is the same knife with my other knife from Charles May, he calls this one his "FireAnt" model, it's a neat little EDC fixed blade, that I wear around my neck.

It has Cocobolo handles and is D2 also. Just a little over 5 inches total length, very handy.
